About our logo

The ōō was the traditional Hawaiian digging instrument. The two hands represent the cooperative effort between community members in the accomplishment of tasks that benefit and nurture the community and people thereof. Kalo also known as taro is much more than the staple of the native Hawaiian diet, as the plant signifies the strong relationship of ohana (family) and the appreciation of the aumākua (ancestors). Finally, water represents life and abundance to the Hawaiian people.
