Over-night Hands-on Cultural Experience taught by Calvin Hoe

Partners in Development Foundation and Mālama ‘Aina Foundation Held an over-night hands-on cultural experience taught by Calvin Hoe on March 30-31, 2007, Friday 9:00 a.m. to Saturday 1:00 p.m. at Kualoa Beach Park, at Hakipu`u site (south end, near Moli`i Fishpond)

The activities included:

• learning how to build a traditional Hawaiian imu
• visiting a kalo lo`i to pick kalo
• gathering the necessary resources from the `aina
• laying a net in nearby waters off Hakipu`u
• pa`ina on Saturday, to share the food that was prepared and cooked
