Program Assistant (PT - 2 Positions Open)

Program: Na Pono No Na ‘Ohana
Reports to: Site Coordinator and Component Teacher
Hours: Part Time, 24 hours per week

Primary Responsibility:
Responsible for assisting in planning, creating, implementing and assessing instructional and environmental aspects of the program and other duties as assigned.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in providing indoor and outdoor activities that foster learning, in assessment of participants, maintaining all necessary and required records that relate to participants.
  • Monitor supplies and educational materials to a safe, comfortable, and nurturing atmosphere.
  • Work with adults and children.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma and two years experience working with young children.
  • Must have at least one year experience working in communities that focus on families.
  • Must have knowledge of Early Childhood Education developmentally appropriate practice, the coursework in ECE.
  • Free of any criminal or traffic convictions.
  • Experience working with Native Hawaiian communities.
  • Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with our without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
  • Prefer candidates with AA, AS, or CDA.
