Teacher’s Assistant

Department: Tūtū and Me (Oahu)
Reports to: Team Teacher and Site Manager

Primary Responsibility:
The Teacher’s Assistant is responsible for assisting the teacher and Assessment Specialist in planning and implementing a quality early childhood and caregiver education program based on the guidelines, curriculum and procedures of the Tutu and Me Program.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist teacher and Assessment Specialist in implementing the Tutu and Me curriculum for caregivers and keiki.
  • Track and record participant attendance at site.
  • Record data in database.
  • Interact with caregivers and keiki in a helpful and professional manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma and Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework and/or experience working with children.
  • Experience working with a diversity of cultural backgrounds.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with people.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. on a daily basis.
  • Free of any criminal or traffic convictions.
