What’s happening in West Hawai‘i Tūtū and Me!

The 2007-2008 school year has been very productive. We celebrated our Thanksgiving month by going to a Pumpkin patch. The families had the benefit and opportunity of walking through the patch to choose their own pumpkin to take home. Another enjoyable time, was our train ride with Uncle Tim of ZooChoo Train. The keiki and caregivers were pleased to see how we were able to convey the transportation unit with a train.

Lastly, to complete our awesome program, we committed ourselves to community service. By giving back to Imiola Church, we masked ourselves to clean and scrap the walls in preparation for painting. The ‘Ohana of Imiola were grateful for the dedication of our labor. We continued our service with assisting Kupuna with the Food Pantry at Sacred Hearts in Kohala. We sorted can goods, packed them into large paper bags, and added our Tūtū flyers in each bag for the families of Kohala.

Our team of four, has lots to learn from our communities and families, it is an honor to be apart of a “hui” that has the privilege to serve others.
